The town shops looked rather seedy to most of us. The number of vital businesses is clearly in decline. While Gibson's remains and is doing well, Powers and Dawley has finally vanished. |

There is now a monument to the Underground Railroad and an Herb Garden on the grounds of Talcott. The herbs represent ones used by early African-American herbalist doctors. |
