This is a lovely white tablecloth restaurant in downtown Nantucket, revered by generations of diners. Once one of the finest restaurants on the island, this restaurant has become less impressive since the tragic death of its owner in June, 2002. The food is good, but no longer excellent. The menu is far less imaginative.

We found the service off-hand and the food carelessly prepared on our last visit. We also found the desserts distinctly plebian. And it is expensive. Dinner for 3 with drinks and taxes but before tip was $190. (We didn't order a bottle of wine.)
